Knock knock, Is this thing working?

Guys. I think I nailed it. I finally found the holy grail to all that has been driving me crazy lately. So let me start from the beginning. 👩🏼‍💻

Before the New Year began I ended the my wedding season feeling like I just hit the finish line out of breath. NEVER AGAIN. While all my other wonderful creatives are raving about how excited they are that it’s over and how calm it is and “what will they do with their time” – I’m over here still going like the energizer bunny! Don’t worry, eventually I got the rest I needed at the beginning of December and was able to enjoy the holiday with my family and friends.

If you’re a photography and you don’t have a client management system…then you a crazyyyy. As the New Year was coming up, I decided to look into Client Management System. I’ve tried 17hats, Honeybook, ShootQ…..none of them had what I was looking for until I started my trial journey with Dubsado. Can you say GAME-CHANGER!!! I always like to test out the waters before fully being committed and yes Dubsado definitely did. Unlike the other Client Management Systems…it didn’t give me “30 Day trials” it game me 3 Job Trials….from beginning to end so I can get the full experience and you know what, that’s what sold me.

You’re probably saying “What did you just babbling on about?” Long story short, client experience just went up through the roof for both you and myself. Everything Is ALL-IN-ONE. From the day and time you inquire about my services and what I have to offer, to proposal, contracts, and payments…guess what? ALL ONLINE. ALL DIGITAL. 👇🏼

I’m so over paper and I’m sure you are too Dubsado has allowed me to improve you experience to have everything under one home with a little creative style. Hey I’m not that much of a party pooper, I like to through so creativity in my forms to keep the party alive! (You can thank their Management System for that). 💕

Overall, 2019 is the year my work hours are work and my personal is self-care. This is the year I hope you see exceptional service from me beyond then you expect. This is the year I can join my fellow creative at the finish line without being out of breath and calmly enjoy the holidays with my family and friends. At the end of the day, it isn’t about reinventing the wheel. It’s about adding little improvements to the wheel. I would like to thank my lovely + gorgeous baby sister, Liyah, for being an incredible model for me and taking time away from your crazy busy life so I got to spend more time to master this Golden Hour Amazing-ness last Friday evening. We needed to break out the camera and just let loose and have fun. I mean, it’s not all business all the time. With the adult life we knew this would be an opportunity it kick it like we use to. The adult life gets crazy , especially with Liyah, studying for Phlebotomy, exceeding in her nursing career, and working full-time. We haven’t had much bonding time or to catch up on what’s new with life, so what best by having her model for me! Even though she was hesitant, she broke out of her shell and worked the camera. This is the reason I love what I do, to break people out of their shell and have them see their true beauty, it makes my work worth it! So if you’re one of those people who are thinking “hey, I love to be photographed” but second guessing because you feel like you’ll be awkward…you haven’t met me, I’ll make sure I capture your beauty as you unfold naturally.

My interest in photography took off in high school when I attended Visual Communication program. Myself being a Fine-Arts student at the time within the program had lots to offer for art-base students. They cross all subjects from illustration, graphic design, and yes photography. For some strange reason Photography sounded like a new challenge to me, seeing by the time in my life I’ve already master graphic design & illustration. Some people would call me an over achiever, I guess. From there going into Visual Communications I begin to learn more and my interest went on a whole new level, which leading to today & evolving in a passion. Once I graduated High School I attended Plattsburgh College for a year and then move locally back to Utica NY and attended MVCC. Beginning the college year with Film Studies, I went through countless rolls of film trying to capture even single moment of my time. From film I took my passion and moved it into the digital world, which lead me to focus on creative portraits. Mid-way through college I decided to really get my feet wet and get real world experience. So for 2 years I spent that time being hired for designers from all over New York who reached out to collaborate photoshoots for their fashion-wear/shows. Why Fashion you ask? I loved abstract and things that don’t belong in my artwork and I was able to do so with Fashion Photography and express the creativity.

Overtime, as thing do – I felt that I was losing the thrilling thrive & the challenge wasn’t there anymore. One day I had an inquiry about documenting a couples wedding and I said “why not?”. Behold to find out after that day I completely moved onto the wedding photography train. What made me switch so fast was that, everything from start to finish had this documented love stories, and yes I am a suckers for love stories! Everything from the sad, the nervousness, the excited, the crying,  and mostly the family coming together so celebrate two souls merging into one, hits home to me. This absolutely made a personal connection with myself. I always felt family and being connected and sharing moments like this only make us stronger and in my case helps put that emotion into my work even better and sparks the creativity. With this being said, to this point and how I am where I got today would not have been possible without my mentor Janelle @ Janelle Rodriguez Photography aka the most amazing women EVER, who allowed me to shadow her and second shoot for the past 3 years.

So, long story short – photography has always had a connection in my life and always has been a big influencer. Since that moment, that how I became a photographer, more specifically a portraits & wedding photographer. The past 3 years have been a blessing and a challenge with being able to have the opportunity to capture a wedding couples special day. Overall, photography has completely challenge, fuels me, but most important photography is a part of me.

Evolution of my work from 2011 to Current:
